1st Edition Materials: What to Purchase, Gather and Make

Each Investigations curriculum unit (1998, 2004, and 2006) lists all the materials necessary to teach the unit. Many materials listed in each unit are included in the grade level Teacher Resource Kits or Student Materials Kits, but some items (e.g., decks of cards) can be made, other items (e.g., buttons) can be gathered by students, teachers, or volunteers. Keep in mind that teacher time is a critical factor to consider when making choices about what to buy, gather, or make.
