Ten Minute Math is a collection of templates for short explorations, games, and problems designed to accompany the units in the K-5 mathematics curriculum, Investigations in Number, Data, and Space® (1998, 2004, and 2006 editions). These activities help students develop important mathematical skills and concepts in each of the three main content areas of the curriculum--number, data, and space. They are also intended to help them acquire broader mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills, including an increased repertoire of strategies for mental calculation, confidence in using invented approaches for solving problems, and the ability to reflect on and articulate their problem-solving processes and compare them with those of classmates.
