These letters include a list of books that support the mathematics of each unit, for parents (and indirectly for teachers and schools) to use to support their child’s mathematical learning. In grades 3-5 these Family Letters are the only place where children’s literature is suggested. In K-2, there are also a handful of units, most of them in Kindergarten, that suggest using a piece of children’s literature to introduce an activity. In these instances, several literature suggestions are offered, and the book is considered an optional material rather than the centerpiece of a math lesson.

Children’s Literature in Grades K-2 PDF

Children’s Literature in Grades 3-5 PDF

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_cta title=”Learn More” use_background_color=”off” background_layout=”light” admin_label=”Learn More” _builder_version=”3.0.76″ header_text_color=”#005285″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” use_border_color=”on” border_color=”#005285″ text_orientation=”left” custom_padding=”20px|20px|20px|20px”]

Learn more about mathematical children’s literature.

[/et_pb_cta][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Children’s Literature In Investigations, children’s literature is recommended, not required.
